Operational Check with Cal Kit
Equipment Required
The Keysight U3045AM04 requires that the user be familiar with the equipment
listed.
Operational Check Procedure
The sequence of this procedure is very important and must be followed or the
performance accuracy and results may vary from the reference plots provided.
Ensure that the test set is not connected to the analyzer if you are performing
an analyzer Operational Check. The analyzer will indicate false failures if the
test set is connected.
Preparing the Analyzer
1.
Connect the test set to the 4-Port analyzer using the interconnect cables
as shown in
.
2.
Turn On the test set.
3.
On the analyzer, select Response> Cal > Manage Cals > Cal Set. Delete or
Rename any Cal Sets titled “999.1” thru “999.8” (8-Port), although it is
unlikely that you will find Cal Sets with these names.
4.
Verify that the analyzer is in 8-Port mode. See the bottom of the
measurement window.

If only four S-Parameters are listed, select Utility > System >
Configure > Multiport Capability. Select Restart as multiport PNA
with this testset and select U3045AM04 (8-Port) from the
drop-down menu > OK. Refer to
5.
Press Preset.
6.
Verify that the [Start Frequency] is set to [10 MHz].
7.
Set [Stop Frequency] to [50 GHz], or upper frequency limit for your
analyzer.
8.
Select [Power] > Power Level and enter [0 dBm].
9.
Select Response > Avg > IF Bandwidth > 100 Hz > OK.
10.
Select Stimulus > Sweep > Number of Points > 401.
