1. Hardware installation

System requirements for laptop / PC of the customer
Since the KHS-Logic system control runs on a webserver, one of the following browsers is needed for
configuration.
1. Internet Explorer
2. Firefox
3. Google Chrome
CD-ROM drive or USB port (freely accessible for USB memory stick)

Scope of application
The KHS-Logic control system is the central controller for a drinking water installation that is installed with the
Kemper Hygiene System (KHS). All available KHS components can be wired to the Logic control system. This
device includes a CPU that can be programmed to control time-, temperature-, and / or volume based cold water
changing processes and is able to keep records of:

the changed cold water volumes

the start and stop time of a water change

the start and stop temperature of the cold water

the hot water or hot water return temperature
The settings for a water changing process can be evaluated by the simulation of the drinking water installation
via Kemper Dendrit design software.
Special safety instructions

Solely trained specialists are permitted to install and commission the components. These personnel must be
familiar with the relevant national standards.

This system conducts voltages that can be dangerous under certain circumstances. These voltages can be
fatal, can cause serious bodily harm, or grave property damage.

The system operating organisation must ensure that the system is only used as intended.

The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 55°C.

The control box in the as-delivered condition is a system protected as per IP 55. If any modifications are
made on the control box after delivery, we do not provide any guarantee regarding contact protection,
protection against foreign bodies and protection against water.
1.3
Setup
The system is controlled by top hat rail PC with PLC. To be able to configure the system, a local computer (such
as a laptop or mainframe) with an internet browser is needed. Via a connection between the browser on the
computer and the webserver on the Logic control system it is possible to configure the settings for water
changes or temperature documentation of the drinking water installation.
