Create backup
Caution
During a backup process, the service medium must not be removed, nor
must the power supply to the module be disconnected. This may destroy the
firmware on the components and thus make further operation impossible.
Information
It is recommended to copy the backup file (image file) to a secured EDP
system, as data security on a USB stick cannot be guaranteed over a
longer period of time.
To be able to save a backup, a service medium is required. For more infor-
mation on creating this service medium, see the online help of KeStudio U4.
During a backup, all data stored on the service medium, including all net-
work settings, are backed up.
KeStudio U4 offers the possibility to install the created backup as a simula-
tion on the PC. For more information see online help of KeStudio U4.
To save the backup to the service media, proceed as follows:
1) Connect the service medium to the control unit.
2) Restart the controller.
3) As soon as the controller is in the RUN state, perform the backup via the
7-segment display.

After a successful backup, the service medium can be removed. The con-
troller is restarted automatically.
