5.4 Network settings (ports)
Note
● We recommend assigning a static IP address to the charging station in the network using the
MAC address of the device.
● Since the OCPP host is usually not in the same network, the charging station must be as-
signed a "public IP address", which is routed to the internal IP address (NAT).
● Your firewall must be configured so that a communication between the charging station and
the OCPP host is possible.
● For GSM: Depending on the mobile communications provider, the ports must first be enabled
by your provider.
Standard ports
The following ports must be enabled in the network for the communication:

(incoming) XXXX TCP ● OCPP Charge Point Service: This service is in
conjunction with the OCPP central system ser-
vice.
● The port can be freely selected or it is specified
by the OCPP central system service. However,
the port may only be located in the range from
1025 to 65535.
● The selected port must be configured on the
charging station.
Access to external
(outgoing) XXXX TCP Port can be reached under the OCPP host (central
system service).
Incoming and outgoing 123 UDP Port for the timer server of the charging station.
Ports for local load management
The following ports must be additionally enabled in the network for the communication:

ing stations)
Within the network 15118 UDP SDP (connection establishment between the charg-
ing stations)
Within the network 67 TCP Bootps (for firmware update)
Within the network 68 TCP Bootpc (for firmware update)
Within the network 67 UDP Bootps (for firmware update)
Within the network 68 UDP Bootpc (for firmware update)
