Definition of terms
Operator
Operator is any natural or legal entity who has actual physical control
over the care bed. The person in actual physical control of the care
bed is the one who controls the care bed himself/herself or through
colleagues, controls and monitors it.
User
User is anyone who, based on their education, experience or training
is entitled to operate the care bed or perform work on it. The user has
been instructed in the proper handling of the care bed. The user is
able to recognize potential dangers and assess the patient’s condition.
Patient
Person requiring care (e.g. disabled or infirm person), who is depen-
dent on a care bed.
Qualified staff
Qualified staff are employees of the manufacturer or the dealer who,
based on their education, experience and instruction, have the neces-
sary expertise to deliver the care bed, assemble, disassemble and
transport it, and carry out maintenance and repairs properly.
