measurements, determining signal strength and quality. The

indications are based on the
noise margin measurement: A negative noise margin (very
low MER) results in the
FAIL
indication. A positive noise
margin near zero results in the
MARGIN
indication. The
PASS
indication corresponds to a good MER and positive noise
margin values.
There is no correlation between the display
PASS
/
MARG
/
FAIL
and the
LOCK
/
UNLOCK
status: Even
if the quality status is
FAIL
, the signal is locked
and demodulated.
Otherwise the channel display under the plan grid
were grey (channel unlocked).
