Upon connecting to the mains input, the
charging device and the plugs in the kitchen
and in the benches are supplied directly with
230 V AC power. The 12 V system is supplied
by a body battery that is separate from the
starter battery. This battery is charged on an
ongoing basis by the charging unit when
connected to a mains input. The vehicle's
generator charges this battery during travel.
An isolating relay in the engine compartment
regulates the current flow when the generator
is running. If the voltage exceeds 13.3 V, then
the body battery is charged.
The charging device charges the batteries if
connected to a mains input. It has an ON/OFF
switch and a selector to switch between gel
and acid batteries.
