THE MB48IP MOTHERBOARD
The MB48IP motherboard is the card that contains all the general control circuits that
constitute the basis of the exchange. The following circuits are present on it:
·
Microprocessor and registers that maintain control of the entire exchange
·
Interface connection circuitry
·
DTMF receivers
·
DTMF generators
·
Switching circuit
·
Extension circuits
·
Line circuits
The diagram below shows the positioning of those circuits on the motherboard:

At most two analog expansion cards can be installed on the MB48IP motherboard
when necessary, in order to increase the capacity:
Ø
EXP48 (2/6): The expansion card with 2 lines and 6 extensions
Ø
EXP48 (4/12): The expansion card with 4 lines and 12 extensions
Ø
EXP48 (0/16): The expansion card with 16 extensions
At most two EXP48 expansion cards can be plugged in the motherboard of the
MS48IP exchange, so as one of the cards being on top of the other. An MS48IP
exchange can include two EXP48 (4/12) expansion cards. As for the EXP48 (0/16)
expansion module, only one can be installed. The list below shows various extension
and line capacities that can be achieved by installing various expansion cards.
