Unplayable discs
t Unplayable disc types and formats are as follows:
– DVD-Audio/DVD-ROM/DVD-VR discs
– DivX/DVD+VR/DVD-RAM/JPEG/PNG/BMP
recorded on DVD-R/RW or +R/+RW
– SVCD (Super Video CD), CD Text (CD-DA), CD-
ROM, CD-I (CD-I Ready), DTS-CD
– MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4/WMV/MKV recorded on
CD-R/RW
t Discs that are not round.
t Discs with coloring on the recording surface or
discs that are dirty.
t Recordable/Rewritable discs that have not been
finalized.
t
3 inch discs. Attempting to insert these discs using
an adapter may cause a malfunction.
DualDisc playback
The Non-DVD side of a “DualDisc” does not comply
with the “Compact Disc Digital Audio” standard.
Therefore, the use of the Non-DVD side of a DualDisc
on this product cannot be recommended.
Playing Recordable/Rewritable discs
t This unit can recognize a total of 64 770 files and
254 folders (a maximum of 255 files per folder).
t Use only “finalized” discs.
t This unit can play back multi-session discs;
however, unclosed sessions will be skipped while
playing.
t Some discs or files may not be played back due to
their characteristics or recording conditions.

t We bear no responsibility for any loss of data in
iPod/iPhone and USB mass storage class devices
while using this unit.

Playable files on a USB device
t This unit can play the following types of files
stored in a USB mass storage class device.
– MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4/MP3/WMA/WAV/AAC/
FLAC/H.264/WMV/MKV
t This unit can recognize a maximum of 9 999 files
and a maximum of 9 999 folders in a folder.
t Make sure all important data has been backed up
to avoid losing the data.
Notes on using a USB device:
t
This unit may not play back files in a USB device
properly when using a USB extension cable.
t USB devices equipped with special functions such
as data security functions cannot be used with the
unit.
t Do not use a USB device with 2 or more partitions.
t
Depending on the shape of the USB devices and
connection ports, some USB devices may not be
attached properly or the connection might be
loose.
t This unit may not recognize a memory card
inserted into a USB card reader.
t
When connecting with a USB cable, use a USB 2.0
cable.
t
The maximum number of characters (when the
characters are 1 byte):
– Folder names: 128 characters
– File names: 128 characters
t Avoid using the USB device if it might affect
driving safety.
t
Do not pull out and connect the USB device
repeatedly while “Reading” is shown on the
screen.
t Electrostatic shock at connecting a USB device
may cause abnormal playback of the device. In this
case, disconnect the USB device then reset this
unit and the USB device.
t Operation and power supply may not work as
intended for some USB devices.
t Do not leave a USB device in the car, or expose to
direct sunlight or high temperatures to prevent
deformation or damage to the device.
