PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
1. Safety precaution for PDP operation
(1) Do not prevent the radiation of heat from back, top and flank
sides of a PDP. (Refer to "5. Requirements for setting".)
Preventing the radiation of heat from each side c aus es high
temperature within a PDP and may damage the inner c ircuit.
(2) Ins tall a PDP in a place where is well ventilated.
Ambient temperature s hould be within a range of
0
~
~
~
~
40
℃
℃
℃
℃
.
(3) Actions when the picture dis appeared on the screen
(Vertical Installation)
When the temperature inside of a PDP bec ame high due to
stoppage of the c ooling fan, the detection circuit for
suspens ion of fan operation starts to func tion and turns the
power OFF automatically. In this case, unplug the power c ord
immediately.
Refer to
“
Self check
”
portion for detail.
(4) Ins tall in not dusty plac e. If dust covers the air intake holes,
inside v entilation effect will reduce. Then, it may damage the
inner circuit.
If the unit uses in s uch atmosphere, it will strongly require
regular cleaning or maintenance.
2. Precautions on Installation
To get good heat dissipation from the rear.
This Monitor is not equipped with cooling fans bec aus e it is
designed to operate quietly.
If you install the Monitor in s uch a way as not instructed,
additional methods are required to c ool down the Monitor.
A : Horizontal Installation (Normal)
In the case, the slots and openings in
the cabinet protect the Monitor from
overheating.
*
See also “Installation” on page 9 in
the instructions.
B : Vertical Installation
It is required to attach the Cooling Fan Unit (TS-C01FANG:not supplied).
*
See also “Connecting” the C ooling Fan Unit (not supplied)” on page
13 in the instructions.
C : Other Installation
When installing the Monitor in a way not
mentioned in A and B above, consult
your dealer.
Improper installation which obstructs
the air stream may cause internal heat
buildup, and thus may caucus damage
to the product.
3. Retained-Image and burning
When the s ame pattern is displayed continuously for many hours,
the burning of the screen is occurred in the same manner as for a
CRT . This will shorten the service life of a PDP. In order to avoid
the burning of the screen, turn the display off when not nec essary.
Also tak e s uch other measures as scrolling the screen and using
a screen s aver. In addition, periodic ally display the brightness
reversal, the reversal to the c omplementary color or the ins ertion
of animated image - all these will make the dis play on the s creen
uniform. Sinc e the higher brightness may cause the burning,
us ers are requested to use neutral colors as much as possible.
Animated image will not c aus e the burning.
When the screen is switched after continuous display, the
retained-image may be significant because the brightness of a
certain portion bec omes higher than that of other portions. This is
caused by a phenomenon in which a surface electrical discharge
of the lighted portion is more activated than the non-lighted
portions, resulting in higher brightness.
This unit has functions such as “PIXEL SHIFT”, “COLOR-
REVERSE” and “REFRESH”. They will reduce burning. Pleas e
refer to the instruction book for detail.
4. Infrared rays
Becaus e the near infrared rays (800
~
1000nm) radiate from the
panel face, the neighboring infrared ray remote c ontrollers,
infrared communication systems, etc. may malfunction. In thes e
cases, take a meas ure to prevent the trouble to be caused by
direct rays (or reflected rays) from the screen by changing the
direction of the screen face or keeping a safe distanc e between a
PDP and other devices .
