TX Matrix Plus Routing Engine Interface Cable Specifications
For management and service operations, you connect the Routing Engine to an external
console or management network through ports on the corresponding TXP-CB.
NOTE:
For troubleshooting only, you can access a T1600 router by connecting
a CIP on the router to an external management device. However, you manage
the routing matrix through external management devices connected to the
TXP-CBs on the TX Matrix Plus router.
The control plane connections between the T1600 routers and the TX Matrix Plus router
are provided by UTP Category 5 Ethernet cables between the RJ-45 ports on the TXP-CIPs
in the TX Matrix Plus router and the LCC-CBs in the T1600 routers. The maximum length
supported is 100 m. The UTP Category 5 cables do not have to be the same length. The
cable wiring is
straight-through
(not crossover).
Table 65 on page 443 lists the specifications for the cables that connect to management
ports.
