Take the backup host subsystem offline. See the T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide .

Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect
the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
5.
Set the M/S configuration switches on each LCC-CB on the T1600 router before you
install them in the chassis:
• Set the chassis ID switch on each LCC-CB on the T1600 router to
0
.
NOTE: When you integrate an operational T1600 router with the TX
Matrix Plus router, you must assign a chassis ID of
0
to the router.

Set the
M/S
switch on each LCC-CB on the T1600 router faceplate to
S
.
6.
Replace the backup T-CB with an LCC-CB on the T1600 router. Use the standard
replacement procedure described in the
T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide .
7.
Replace the the backup Routing Engine with an RE-C1800 on the T1600 router. Follow
the standard replacement procedure described in the
T1600 Core Router Hardware
Guide .
8.
Perform a graceful switchover to the backup by issuing the request chassis
routing-engine master switch command:
user@host> request chassis routing-engine master switch
9.
Replace the other T-CB (which now belongs to the backup host subsystem) with an
LCC-CB on the T1600 router. Use the standard replacement procedure described in
the
T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide .
10.
Replace the the other Routing Engine (which now belongs to the backup host
subsystem) with an RE-C1800 on the T1600 router. Follow the standard replacement
procedure described in the
T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide .
11.
Perform a graceful switchover to the original master by issuing the
request chassis
routing-engine master switch
command:
user@host> request chassis routing-engine master switch
12.
Verify that the LCC-CBs and RE-C1800 are displayed in the output of the show chassis
hardware command:
user@host> show chassis hardware
