Introduction
The pressure transmitter measures the pressure in both corrosive and non-corrosive gases, vapors, liq-
uids and dusts. It operates on the piezoresistive measuring principle. The output signal is a DC current
that is proportional to the input pressure.
The pressure transmitter fulfills the following requirements for equipment group II:
•
In zone 1 and 2 areas with an explosion hazard arising from gas (
G
as).
The pressure connection (process connection) may, however, also be mounted on to zone 0.
•
In zone 21 and 22 areas with an explosin hazard arising from dust (
D
ust).
The pressure connection (process connection) may, however, also be mounted on to zone 20.
The pressure transmitter can also be used as a level probe.
•
Explosion group II, category 2G with extra code 406
•
Explosion group II, category 1G with extra code 407
The EC type-examination certificate is designated: SEV 09 ATEX 0140 X.
The device is certified according to EHEDG in the versions with process connections (clamp) DN 25, 32,
40 and 50 as well as VARIVENT.
The pressure transmitter may be mounted in tanks and pipes in which explosive vapor/air mixtures occur
at pressures of 0.8 to 1.1 bar, at mixture temperatures of -20 to +60 °C (potentially explosive atmo-
sphere).
Mounting in vessels and pipelines in which explosive mixtures occur outside the pressure and tempera-
ture ranges mentioned above is not covered by this assessment.
The pressure transmitter may also be mounted in tanks and pipes with flammable liquids or gases, which
have pressures and temperatures that are outside the ranges specified above, provided that no poten-
tially explosive mixtures are present. In such cases, the defined limits for the application range of the
transmitter must be observed.
If the pressure transmitter is used inside areas with an explosion hazard, the relevant regulations for in-
stalling and operating equipment in this area must be observed.
For use/installation must be complied with the requirements of EN 60079-14.
CAUTION!
The diaphragm of the pressure transmitter must not be damaged!
Do not insert any objects into the pressure connection duct!
Do not direct a pressure jet onto the diaphragm!
On models that feature a front-flush diaphragm, it is important that the diaphragm is not deformed.
Even slight finger pressure may be enough to damage the diaphragm.
The measured pressure (including the peaks) must not exceed the permissible overpressure for the
pressure transmitter.
Excessive pressure peaks (water hammer) may destroy the transmitter. Under such conditions, suit-
able precautions must be taken (e.g. installation of dampers or snubbers).
