4 Mounting
4.7 Mounting instructions for pressure transmitters
(extra code 407)
Special conditions
The special conditions refer only to extra code 407 for use in zone 0.
The entire system must be selected by the operator in such a way as to ensure that zones are separated
properly for the application. This must be implemented with a protection tube and screw connections in-
cluded as per EN 60079-1. For the applicable requirements please refer to the Operating Instructions.
DANGER!
The operator is responsible for ensuring that zones are properly separated and for the intrinsic
safety of the entire system!
 If there is a danger of electrostatic discharge the probe must be grounded before the level probe ca-
ble is led down into the tank with the protection tube.
The level probe must only be mounted in containers that are operated under atmospheric conditions,
meaning only assembly in unpressurized containers is permitted!
Mounting must only be performed by a suitably qualified specialist. Applicable ATEX requirements
must also be taken into account!
Example of mounting
Use of the level probe (D) in zone 0 must be implemented in the following manner:
•
With an electrical connection (designed according to the requirements of separation of zones)
• With a protection tube (B) (usually consisting of several tube segments)
• With straight screw connections (C) for a liquid-tight connection between the individual tube seg-
ments (B)
• With a straight screw-in connection (A) for fastening on the tank cover (not shown here)
