to a collective flue or a single flue with
natural draught, the flue or chimney must be expressly designed by professionally qual-
ified technical personnel in conformity with the current regulations and be suitable for
sealed chamber units equipped with a fan.
In particular, chimneys and flues must have the following characteristics:
•
Be sized according to the method of given in current regulations.
•
Be fumetight, resistant to fumes and heat and impermeable to condensate.
•
Have a round or quadrangular cross-section with a vertical progression and no con-
strictions.
•
Have the ducts conveying the hot fumes adequately separated or isolated from
combustible materials.
•
Be connected to just one unit per floor.
•
Be connected to a single type of unit (all and only forced draught units or all and only
natural draught units).
•
Have no mechanical suction devices in the main ducts.
•
Be at negative pressure, along their entire length, in conditions of stationary opera-
tion.
•
Have at their base a collection chamber for solid materials or condensate, equipped
with a metal door with airtight closure.
3. SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
All adjustment, conversion, start-up and maintenance operations described below must
only be carried out by Qualified Personnel (meeting the professional technical require-
ments prescribed by current regulations) such as those of the Local After-Sales Techni-
cal Service.
JOANNES
declines any liability for damage and/or injury caused by unqualified and un-
authorised persons tampering with the unit.
3.1 Adjustments
Gas conversion
The unit can operate on Natural Gas or LPG and is factory-set for use with one of these
two gases, as clearly shown on the packing and on the dataplate. Whenever a different
gas to that for which the unit is arranged has to be used, a conversion kit will be required,
proceeding as follows:
1.
Replace the nozzles at the main burner, inserting the nozzles specified in the tech-
nical data table in sec. 4.4, according to the type of gas used
2.
Modify the parameter for the type of gas:
•
switch the boiler to standby mode
•
press the RESET button
(detail 6 - fig. 1) for 10 seconds: the display shows
“
TS
“ flashing
•
press the RESET button
(detail 6 - fig. 1): the display shows “
P01
“.
•
Press the DHW buttons fig. 1 (details 1 and 2 - ) to set parameter 00 (for oper-
ation with natural gas) or 01 (for operation with LPG).
•
Press the RESET button
(detail 6 - fig. 1) for 10 seconds.
•
the boiler will return to standby mode
3.
Adjust the burner minimum and maximum pressures (ref. relevant section), setting
the values given in the technical data chart for the type of gas used
4.
Apply the sticker contained in the conversion kit, near the dataplate as proof of the
conversion.
TEST mode activation
Press the heating buttons fig. 1 (details 3 and 4 -
) at the same time for 5 seconds to
activate
TEST mode. The boiler lights at the maximum heating power set as described
in the following section.
The heating symbol (detail 13 - fig. 1) and DHW symbol (detail 9 - fig. 1) flash on the dis-
play; the heating power will be displayed alongside.
fig. 25 - TEST mode (heating power = 100%)
To deactivate TEST mode, repeat the activation sequence.
TEST mode is automatically disabled in any case after 15 minutes.
