Traveling on a Grade
When traveling a grade, maximum braking and traction are obtained
with the boom stowed, in position over the rear axle, and in line with
the direction of travel. Drive the machine forward when climbing a
grade, and in reverse when descending a grade. Do not exceed the
machine's maximum rated gradability.
IF THE BOOM IS OVER THE FRONT (STEER) AXLE, DIRECTION OF STEER AND DRIVE
MOVEMENT WILL BE OPPOSITE FROM THE MOVEMENT OF THE CONTROLS.
4.7
STEERING
Position thumb switch on Drive/Steer controller to
Right for steering right, or to Left for steering left.
4.8
EXTENDING THE AXLES
NOTE:
The boom must be in the transport position to extend or retract
the axles. Transport position is defined as:
Tower boom angle ≤ 0°
Tower boom length ≤ 4"(100mm)
Main boom angle (With tower in transport position) ≤ 3°
Main boom length ≤ 4" (100mm)
The operator must be driving the machine (forward or reverse) in
order to extend the axles.
Position the Axle Extend switch to extend the
axles or to retract to retract the axles.
