Extension table assembly
Attach the extension bracket (E, Fig.
6) to the side of the motor (D) with 2
socket head cap screws (F).
Fig 6
Slide the shaft of the extension table
(C) into the extension bracket and
tighten with lock knob (G).
5.3 Mains connection
Mains connection and any extension
cords used must comply with
applicable regulations.
The mains voltage must comply with
the information on the machine
licence plate.
The mains connection must have a 16
A surge-proof fuse.
Only use power cords marked
H07RN-F
Connections and repairs to the
electrical equipment may only be
carried out by qualified electricians.
In case of machine overload the motor
overload cut-off will react.
After appr.5 min of cooling the
overload cut off can be reset.
Attention: The machine will start
when you reset the overload push
button!
(Only 230V version)
5.4 Dust connection
Before initial operation, the machine
must be connected to a dust extractor.
The suction should switch on
automatically when the belt sander is
switched on.
The flow rate on the suction port must
be 20m/sec.
Flexible hoses must be of non-
flammable quality, and must be
connected to the machine ground
system.
5.5 Starting operation
You can start the machine with the
green on button. The red button on the
main switch stops the machine.
After connecting to the power source,
turn on the power to the machine just
enough to start the belt rotating and
then turn off. Do this several times
and observe belt tracking.
If adjustment is necessary refer to
“Belt tracking adjustment” (chapter
7.2)
6. Machine operation
6.1 Horizontal sanding
With the sanding platen locked in the
horizontal position, the removable
fence (A, Fig. 7) may be used.
The fence can be secured in place by
screwing two lock knobs (B) into the
guide blocks found in the mitre slot.
Remove the extension table if
applicable.
The backstop (C) must be mounted
and the drum guard must be closed.
Fig 7
6.2 Vertical sanding
With the sanding platen (E, Fig 8)
locked in the vertical position, the
backstop (C) must be installed.
Remove the extension table if
applicable.
The drum guard must be closed.
Fig 8
Any sanding angle can be chosen.
The adjustable 90°stop is located on
the back of the machine.
The mitre gauge (D) may be used.
The machine table is adjustable in
height (see chapter 7.5).
Note:
With the machine table slightly tilted
and the workpiece moving
longitudinally you can achieve an
aditional oscillation and an improved
sanding surface.
6.3 Contour sanding
Open the drum guard (A, Fig 9) and
tighten the 2 lock knobs (D).
Fig 9
Mount the extension table (B) and
clamp it on the desired working height
with lock knob (C).
The drum guard must always be
closed if the extension table is not in
use.
