Replacing the batteries

SmartClass ADSL/Copper Tester User’s Guide
To replace the batteries

Turn the power off.

Using a phillips screw driver, remove the screw from the battery compart-
ment door.

Remove the door by pressing down and pushing toward the bottom end.

Replace the batteries, with polarities oriented as shown.
We recommend either
Energizer
or
Sanyo
2500 mA rechargeable
batteries.

Replace the battery compartment door.

Replace the screw in the door.

Specify the type of battery you inserted.
If the AC Adapter is connected, you will be prompted for the battery type
immediately. If the adapter is not connected, the prompt appears when you
power up the unit.
Replacing the batteries is complete.
CAUTION: INSTRUMENT DAMAGE
Failure to turn the power off before removing the batteries from the ADSL/
Copper Tester could damage internal components and/or corrupt the soft-
ware. Always power down the unit before removing the batteries.
