INSTRUCTION

1. The vehicle must be cold. If the cooling system is 

hot, do not attempt to remove the header tank cap or 

radiator cap. Wait until it cools down.

2. Install the rubber bulb, the cap, the upper chamber, 

the lower chamber, brass adaptor and also the rubber 

cone that allows the leak detector to be held in pla-

ce on a header tank or radiator opening. And then, fill 

up the upper chamber with blue detector liquid till the 

black line.

3. Squeeze the rubber bulb completely and slowly 

about 3-5 times for gasoline (form 5 to 10 times for 

diesel), sucking the air up through the two fluid-filled 

chambers. As the air bubbles up through the fluid, it will 

cause a chemical reaction if combustion gas is present 

which Will change the colour of the blue fluid to yellow 

for gasoline (green for diesel).

4.  If  the  fluid  turns  into  green/yellow,  it  indicates  the 

presence of CO2 in the coolant and the need to inves-

tigate further.

5. Remove the leak detector and turn the engine off.

6. With the engine off and the radiator cap open, fill the 

radiator with coolant to the top of the filler neck.

7. Dismantle the upper chamber from the lower cham-

ber by twisting them apart. Pump the rubber bulb seve-

ral times to draw fresh air through the test fluid. When 

it has returned to its original blue colour, it can be retur-

ned to the container and used.

CO2 COMBUSTION LEAK DETECTOR

This tool is designed to check for the 

leaks between combustion and cooling 

system of water-cooled engines.

Combustion process produces (beside 

others) 13-14% CO2 in the exhaust and 

the leakage of this gas in the cooling 

system is easily detected.

If there are combustion gases, the co-

lour of the test fluid in the upper cham

-

ber turns yellow or green, it means com-

bustion gas (CO2) leak into the coolant.

Test  fluid  is  reusable  (refer  to  the  ins

-

truction).

TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. Dismantle the container following the next order:

ATTENTION

: The tube #2 has to be handled with pliers 

very carefully so it won’t break.

2. Remove the rubber valve #1. Installation must be 

carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.

Pay special attention at the assembly of rubber valve 

#1 and tube #2, NOT FULLY PUSHED IN.

ATTENTION

: Excessive pressure on the rubber valve 

#1 and on the tube #2 is the main reason for the lack 

of pressure.

PRECAUTION

 ADVERTENCIA!

1. The hot coolant may cause severe burns.

2. Do not open the radiator cap before ensuring the 

temperature is low.

3. Protect your hand and eyes, always.

4. Do not breathe coolant vapors.

5. Dismantle, clean and dry the detector components 

after each use.
