OFFSET
Sensor voltage at pH 7.00 is
outside the range: sensor too old,
cable faulty, no sensor connected
or initially calibrated with buffer
solution 4.00 by accident.
Check sensor cable for damage,
connect sensor correctly and
repeat calibration (starting
with buffer solution 7.00!). If
unsuccessful, connect new sensor
and calibrate.
UNSTAB
Unstable sensor voltage: sensor tip
very dirty, electrolyte leaked out of
sensor or sensor tip broken off.
Clean sensor tip, place in storage
solution for 24 hours, then
calibrate. If unsuccessful, connect
new sensor and calibrate.
Return function
If no key is pressed for 30 seconds the display automatically returns to the value overview.
Any values not confirmed by OK will not have been stored.
Sleep mode
If no key is pressed for 10 minutes, the display backlighting fades to the lowest setting. When
a key is activated, the display is lit with the brightness level previously set.
Cleaning
The surface of the device may be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use
cleaning agents. Do not immerse the device in water.
Power failure
In the event of power failure, all values previously set remain stored. Only the time
calculation for the calibration reminder is disrupted.
Use of JBL PROFLORA pH Control Touch in combination with
calcium reactors in saltwater
Calcium reactors are tasked with dissolving the calcium oxide from the substrate within the
reactor (e.g. coral sand), and returning it as carbonate hardness into the saltwater aquarium.
Thus it counteracts the consumption of KH in the aquarium and no KH supplements have
to be added. The KH of natural saltwater in the oceans is between 6 and 9 °dKH, depending
on the ocean. CO₂ is the best means to effectively dissolve KH from the substrate. This
process requires a pH level of approx. 6.5 inside the calcium reactor, which needs continuous
monitoring.
For calcium reactors which have an opening for pH sensors, this is very easy. All you have to
do is install the pH sensor there and set the pH set point on the JBL PROFLORA pH Control
Touch to 6.5 (see chapter 7.4). The connecting cable for the solenoid valve has to connect the
solenoid valve to the CO₂ system, which introduces the CO₂ into the calcium reactor.
