2.6.5. Output Welding Conditions, Short Circuit or Welding Over Limits
A circuit test is released every time you switch "ON" the machine. The correct output polarities are checked-out
and in case of eventual short circuit detec¬tion, machine enters in alarm standby showing on the display:
Once short circuit conditions are removed, machine test will continue correctly.
Short circuit conditions may appear even during the welding job: in case they persist continuously for more than
5 sec, generator enters in "short circuit alarm". The "anti sticking" icon lights too.
Fires, burns and shocks may be caused by uncorrected current outputs.
The DYNAMIG 560 are characterized by a duty cycle - 100%@400A, 60%@500A, 40%@600A at 40°C and power
supply may, in certain cases, be suf
fi
cient for this output but the user can adjust higher power output causing
damages on the existing supply network or can choose the cable at maximum output current.
2.6.6. Protection from Inverter Failure
The bus voltage has a feedback to the main control. When the voltage is lower than 150V DC, the machine
stops working, the led of "DC BUS FAIL" on the power source front panel will light on. And the main relay of the
power source would turn off.
2.6.7. Communication with the External Wire Feeder
The external wire feeder can be connected to the connectors of the back panel of the machine, the machine
recognize the wire feeder and starts to communicate.
The control from the machine is passed to the wire feeder when the torch switch of the wire feeder is pressed.
When an error in the communication between the machine and the wire feeder ap-pear, the two display of the
wire feeder show three lines "---" instead the values, this prob¬lem often occurs when the interconnecting cable
connectors are loose or internal wires of the interconnecting cable are open.
See the failures and solutions in "
10 Trouble Shooting
" for details.
2.6.8. Inch Wire/Gas Test
Press the torch switch the rollers work normally and the machine starts wire inching at
2 m/min. After 5 sec, the front panel of wire feeder
fl
ashes as "inc". The machine stops wire inching. Release the
torch switch and presses it again immediately, it starts wire inching at the speed 10 m/min.
Push the button "
" on the control panel of wire feeder to test the gas. Push it again, the gas stops.
2.6.9. Display
Turning knob, display shows set max current, at no load after 1.5s shows the attenuation by the remote control if
connected. If on welding, after 1.5s shows the real current, voltage is displayed only if welding. After welding the
data are stored.
