: EXTERNAL POWER W/DAISY-CHAIN
In Figure 27, the daisy-chaining of two IP-Bridges is illustrated. External
Power is being used, instead of PoE. High-powered PoE could be used, as long
as the total power draw across the two IP-Bridges is under the PoE power
limitation.
The Ethernet data for both units is supplied with a single network cable
connection. The IP traffic for the 2
nd
unit is passed through the 1
st
unit.
Connections from the door components are the same as described in
example 7.4, including:
o
Standard lock strikes are being used.
12VDC is powering the lock strike.
o
A door sensor switch is installed at each door
o
Wiegand devices are at the doors
