Your iPB4 biometric device is rated as an IP52 unit. For more information on what this means, please see
Appendix A

Understanding IP Ratings.
A conversion kit is available that allows you to increase the IP rating of device. For more information, please
ask your supplier or visit www.ipulsesystems.com.
This rating also depends on the quality of installation. For best results it is recommended that the iPB4
biometric device be mounted indoors or at least under a covered area, and that it should not be installed
in an area where it is exposed to the elements.
An iPB4 was designed to be exceptionally easy to install and maintain. Looking at Figure 9 - iPB4 Installation
Diagram above, you can see that the back plate should be mounted to the wall, with a single screw
connecting the front part of the device to the back plate.
