Using the Automatic Shutdown Utility
In addition to the shutdown action that occurs when invoked, the Automatic Shutdown
Utility lets you do the following:
u
Force all processes to terminate. All programs will terminate if the Force All Processes
to Terminate option is checked. If this option is not checked, the system displays an
End Task dialog for each process that may still be running.
u
Change the time remaining before the system shuts down. Use the slider to adjust the
value in the Time Remaining box. When the Shutdown utility is started, this timer
begins counting down from the value. The default value is 10 seconds and can be as
many as 30 seconds. Intergraph recommends you do not set the value below 5 seconds,
to ensure that you have time to stop system shutdown if needed. Press Enter or click the
Stop Shutdown button to stop the countdown timer.
u
Apply your selected changes without closing the Shutdown dialog. Use the Apply
button to configure an option without performing a system shutdown.
u
Close the shutdown dialog without saving changes you made. Click Cancel to do this.
u
Stop or start the countdown timer. Click the Stop Shutdown/Start Shutdown button,
which toggles between Stop and Start.
NOTE
If you select an option while the countdown timer is running, the timer stops automatically.
Hardware Security Features
The InterServe 80 provides you with several security features designed to help prevent
unauthorized tampering with the internal components.
u
A security tab is located at the top left of the chassis under the top cover. You can place
a small padlock or a security seal in the hole on the tab to prevent removal of the left
side panel.
u
A tamper-indicating Intergraph Factory Quality Seal is affixed to the main chassis and
left side panel security tab. The seal is your assurance that the unit has not been opened
since it left the factory. When removed, the word “VOID” appears on the seal.
Removing the seal does not void your warranty.
u
Hardware Monitor provides a Chassis Intrusion Alert feature. When the left side panel
is removed, Hardware Monitor reports the event. See Hardware Monitor Help for
details.
