Placing Baby in Front-2-Back Rider
®
Facing In
Your child must face towards you until he or she can hold
their head upright.
Your baby needs lots of close contact and attention. Front-
2-Back Rider’s
®
facing-in position is the perfect way to keep
your little one cuddled against you. The wrap-around head
support cradles baby’s head and neck and even provides
support when baby falls asleep! You can entertain and bond
with your baby by talking, touching, playing, and making
eye-contact – and still have your hands free.
1. Release one side of head support. Release buckle
on side opening. Carefully slide baby into Front-2-
Back Rider
®
through the opening and hold baby
against your body. Make sure that each of baby’s legs
are securely in its own opening and that baby’s arms
are through the arm holes.
(Figure 5, Page 18).
2. Fasten hardware over hook and loop side openings.
(Figure 6, Page 18).
Pull on the end of webbing strap
to adjust fit.
(Figure 7, Page 18).
Leg openings must
be adjusted to the smallest possible size.
3. While supporting baby’s weight, fasten upper head
support buckles by pressing in on the tab, mating it
to the corresponding fitting and releasing tab to lock in
place. Before releasing your hold on the baby, ensure
that the buckle is securely fastened.
(Figure 8, Page
18).
4. Adjust Front-2-Back Rider
®
until baby is high on your
chest. You should be able to easily kiss the top of your
baby’s head. Gently lift baby with one hand and pull on
the end of the strap for adjustments.
Facing Out
1. Fold down the head support and place baby in the
Front-2-Back Rider
®
facing away from you. (Follow the
same steps for putting baby in – facing in.) Adjust the
head support straps until baby’s back is snuggly against
your chest. Baby should not lean forward.
(Figure 9,
Page 18).
2. A smaller baby’s arms should be positioned
through the arm holes.
(Figure 10, Page 18).
A
bigger baby’s arms will rest comfortably over the sides of
the head support.
IMPORTANT!
If baby falls asleep in the facing-out position, immediately
switch to the facing-in position or remove baby from
carrier.
Back Position
Child should be able to sit upright unassisted (approximately
6 months old) and must be in the face-in position. We
recommend being accompanied by a second person when
using this position for added safety.
1. Make sure the head support is in the up position
and the side entry buckles and shoulder straps are
unbuckled. Rotate the waist strap until the lumbar
support is centered on lower back.
2. Sit down. With Front-2-Back Rider
®
on your lap, have
child sit with legs straddling the carrier seat. Harness
straps and waist belt should be facing away from you.
(Figure 11, Page 19).
3. Fasten both side-entry buckles.
(Figure 12, Page 19).
4. Have second person put Front-2-Back Rider
®
with
the child in it on your back as you bring the shoulder
straps into place.
(Figure 13, Page 19).
5. Fasten waist belt.
(Figure 14, Page 19).
6. Fasten connector strap, and adjust for a snug fit.
(Figure 15, Page 19).
7. Tighten harness strap, waist belt, and connector straps
by pulling on the excess strap. To contain excess strap
on waist, roll in towards carrier and secure with hook
and loop.
8. Make sure baby is comfortable with legs fully through
leg openings, and baby’s arms above the side entry
buckles. You should be able to fit two fingers between
the child’s leg and leg openings.
Removing Baby from Front-2-BackRider
®
1. To take baby out, simply open one side of the Front-
2-Back Rider
®
. Unfasten the side opening, release the
head support from your shoulder strap and slide baby
out.
(Figure 16, Page 19).
2. To remove a sleeping baby, slide one hand into Front-
2-Back Rider
®
while one arm remaining on baby, and
hold baby securely against your chest. Release both
sides of the head support while keeping hand on
baby. Use your other hand to open the carrier sides.
Front-2-Back Rider’s
®
front will now fall for-ward, and
you can put your baby down, still asleep. This is also a
great way to easily transfer your baby to dad, grandma,
etc. when awake.
(Figure 17, Page 19).
3. To remove your baby from back position,
we recommend having a second person
assist you.
