5.4 Announcements via the DJ microphone
To switch on or off the DJ microphone at channel 1 and
to activate the talkover feature, set the selector switch
MIC (11) to the corresponding position:
1. With the switch set to the left (“OFF”), the micro-
phone is switched off.
2. In mid-position (“ON”), the microphone is switched
on (LED above the switch lights up).
3. With the switch set to the right (“TALKOVER”), the
microphone is switched on and the talkover feature
is activated (LED above the switch lights up): During
a microphone announcement, the levels of chan-
nels 2 to 4 are automatically attenuated by 16 dB.
5.5 Prefader listening to the channels
The PFL feature (Pre Fader Listening = monitoring a
channel ahead of the channel fader) allows to monitor
each of the channels 1 to 4 via headphones connected
to the jack PHONES (17) even if the corresponding
channel is faded out. Thus, it is possible, e. g. to select
the desired title on a CD or to time the moment for
fading in an audio source.
1) For prefader listening to a channel, set the corre-
sponding PFL switch (7) to the right position “ON”.
2) Adjust the desired headphone volume with the con-
trol PHONES LEVEL (14).
Caution! The maximum headphone volume for this
unit is specially matched to DJ requirements and
therefore higher than usual.
5.6 Monitoring the music programme via a
monitoring system
It is possible to monitor the current music programme
ahead of the master control (15) via a monitoring
system connected to the jacks BOOTH (25). Adjust the
level for the monitoring system with the control
BOOTH (1).
