Installation and Servicing
59 GAS CONTROL VALVE REPLACEMENT
1.
Refer to Frame 50.
2.
Remove the boiler front and bottom panels. Refer to Frames
42 & 43.
3.
Swing the control box down into the servicing position. Refer to
Frame 44.
4.
Unplug the electrical lead from the gas control valve and
disconnect the earth wire.
5.
Remove the sensing tube from the gas control valve.
6.
Undo the gas inlet pipe union at the gas service cock.
7.
Undo the union nut on the outlet of the gas control valve.
8.
Slacken the screw securing the valve mounting bracket and
withdraw the valve, complete with bracket and inlet pipe.
9.
Transfer the mounting bracket and gas inlet pipe to the new
gas control valve.
10.
Fit the new gas control valve, ensuring that any seals showing
damage or deterioration are replaced. Reassemble in reverse
order.
11.
Ensure the sensing tube is correctly replaced and not kinked
or blocked in any way.
12.
Check operation of the boiler. Refer to Frame 50.
60 CONDENSATE 'S' TRAP REPLACEMENT
1.
Refer to Frame 50.
2.
Remove the boiler front and bottom panels. Refer to Frames 42
& 43.
3.
Swing the control box down into the servicing position. Refer to
Frame 44.
4.
Disconnect the condensate drain pipe.
5.
Remove the screw and elongated bolt, pull the trap down and
forward to remove.
6.
Transfer the drain pipe to the new trap and reassemble in
reverse order.
7.
When reassembling ensure the trap is full of water.
8.
Check operation of the boiler. Refer to Frame 50.
58 SPARK GENERATOR REPLACEMENT
1.
Refer to Frame 50.
2.
Disconnect the leads from the spark generator and
bracket.
3.
Remove the M5 screw securing the spark generator
bracket to the flue casting.
4.
Remove the 2 M4 screws securing the spark generator to
the bracket.
5.
Fit the new spark generator and re-assemble in reverse
order.
6.
Check operation of the boiler. Refer to Frame 50.
