10.2 Safety instructions for the e-drive and its components
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
Due to its construction and design, a pedelec behaves differently in many ways
to a conventional bike without an e-drive. If you underestimate this difference,
you could expose yourself and others to an increased risk of serious injury.
»
Be aware of the changed cycling behaviour and do not underestimate the risks
involved.
»
At the beginning, consciously practice typical cycling situations with your
pedelec, such as starting and braking, cornering and turning, etc.
»
Find out about any applicable national regulations for pedelec and observe
them.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock and injury!
Improper handling of the pedelec or e-drive may result in an electric shock and/
or serious injury.
»
Always remove the battery from its holder on the pedelec before carrying out
any work, before transporting it or storing it for a longer period of time in order
to prevent you or others from accidentally starting the e-drive.
»
Do not make any changes or modifications to the e-drive. Never try to increase
the power of the e-drive!
»
Do not modify or exchange components of the e-drive yourself under any
circumstances.
»
Do not open the components of the e-drive yourself under any circumstances.
The components of the e-drive are maintenance-free. Have any necessary
repairs to the e-drive carried out exclusively by an authorised specialist dealer.
»
Only have components of the e-drive replaced with approved original spare
parts by an authorised specialist dealer.
»
Only use the "Walk Assistance" function when pushing your pedelec: When the
Walk Assistance function is activated, the pedelec should be held securely with
both hands and the wheels should be in contact with the ground, otherwise
there is a risk of injury. Do not use the Walk Assistance function to propel you
forward while sitting on the pedelec.
