Removing the battery
1. Switch off the e-bike system and battery.
2. Insert the key into the locking cylinder

of the battery holder.
3. Hold the battery

securely with one hand and turn the key in an anti-clockwise direc-
tion to unlock the battery.
4. First tilt the battery to the side and then pull it up and out of the holder.
Inserting the battery
The battery can also be inserted when the lock is engaged.
1. Guide the battery

towards the lower battery holder from above and align the recess
on the underside of the battery with the catch on the battery holder.
2. Swivel the battery to the right until you feel it click into place.
3. After insertion, check that the battery is firmly and securely engaged by carefully pulling
it.
21.3 Riding without the e-drive
You can easily use your pedelec as a conventional bicycle without the e-drive, for example,
if the battery charge is completely used up during a longer ride, if you deliberately switch
off the e-drive or if you select the support level "none".
If you use your pedelec without the battery inserted, make sure that the battery holder
or the connection contacts in the holder are protected from dirt and damage, e.g. using a
suitable cover.
