15. Additional notes regarding calibration
The iProtect looks at the Power Factor of the power being used, not just the Voltage and
Amperage. If the iProtect reads the Power Factor incorrectly it can be difficult to get the
controller to accept its calibration.
The most reliable means of ensuring the unit is reading a stabilized power supply and that
manually programmed parameters are saved correctly is to follow this procedure:
•
Reset iProtect (remove calibration)
•
Change to Manual mode
•
Start the pump uncalibrated and run until kW stabilizes
•
Turn the iProtect off
•
Turn the iProtect on
•
Auto Calibrate and save
•
Run the pump manually
•
Cycle the power (on/off) and check the values are as required.
•
Alter parameters manually as necessary.
