Chapter 12. Host configuration

Using SDDPCM
The SDDPCM is administered using the
pcmpath
command. This commands is used to
perform all administrative functions such as displaying and changing the path state.
The
pcmpath query adapter
command displays the current state of the adapters. In
Example 12-14, we can see the adapter status and that both adapters are showing as optimal
with State=NORMAL and Mode=ACTIVE.
Example 12-14 SDDPCM commands that are used to check the availability of the adapters
# pcmpath query adapter
Total Dual Active and Active/Asymmetric Adapters : 2
Adpt# Name State Mode Select Errors Paths Active
0 fscsi0 NORMAL ACTIVE 949 0 4 4
1 fscsi1 NORMAL ACTIVE 991 0 4 4
The
pcmpath query device
command displays the current state of the volume devices and
their paths. In Example 12-15, we can see the path State and Mode for each of the defined
hdisks. The status that both adapters are showing as optimal with State=OPEN and
Mode=NORMAL.
Additionally, an asterisk (*) displayed next to paths indicates inactive paths that are configured
to the non-preferred IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node canisters in the I/O Group.
Example 12-15 SDDPCM commands that are used to check the availability of the devices
# pcmpath query device
