Appendix B. Adapter Placement Notes
This appendix lists a few important considerations regarding placement of adapters
within your system unit.
Installing a Graphics Adapter
Before installing a graphics adapter, refer to the
PCI Adapter Placement Reference.
This book contains instructions for placing graphics adapters within your system unit.
Installing an Ultra SCSI Adapter
If you have a Model 140, you must install the Ultra SCSI adapter in slot 5.
If you have a Model 240, the Ultra SCSI can be installed only in slot 1, slot 2, or slot
3.
Note: If any external devices are attached to the Ultra SCSI adapter, and you have
any internal devices installed, access speeds across the entire chain attached
to the Ultra SCSI adapter revert to Fast/Wide.
Installing an SSA Adapter
The SSA adapter can be installed in the following slots:

Model 150 - slot 2 or 3

