Copying a dump by using an AIX command:
You can copy a dump by using an AIX command.
Copy the dump only if you are directed to do so by your next level of support or service provider.
Note:
If you have a management console, you must manage your platform dumps with the management
console. For details, see “Copying a dump by using a management console” on page 65.
Platform dumps are saved in AIX in the following directory:
/var/adm/platform
Note:
If the AIX logical partition becomes the service partition after it was installed, run the following
command to create this directory:
platform_dump -f jfs2
or
platform_dump -f jfs
This command creates the
/var/adm/ras/platform
file system. This is done automatically during the
installation if the AIX logical partition was marked as the service partition before it was installed.
Copying a dump by using a Linux command:
You can copy a dump by using a Linux command.
Copy the dump only if you are directed to do so by your next level of support or service provider.
