Rotating
the
internal
drive
cage
When
you
are
performing
some
procedures,
it
might
be
easier
or
necessary
to
rotate
the
internal
drive
cage
(bay
5)
out
of
the
computer.
The
drive-cage
retention
latch
locks
the
cage
into
position
inside
the
computer
and
outside
the
computer.
Before
you
begin:

Review
the
information
in
“System
reliability
guidelines”
on
page
29.
To
rotate
the
internal
drive
cage,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Turn
off
the
computer,
if
it
is
on.
2.
Disconnect
the
power
cord
from
the
power
source
and
from
the
computer;
then,
disconnect
all
external
cables.
3.
Remove
the
side
cover
(see
“Removing
the
side
cover”
on
page
32).
4.
Stand
the
computer
upright
if
it
is
lying
on
its
side.
5.
Push
the
drive-cage
retention
latch
toward
the
front
of
the
computer
and
hold
the
latch
in
place.
Important:
As
you
rotate
the
drive
cage,
make
sure
the
hard
disk
drive
cables
or
other
internal
cables
do
not
impede
the
rotation
of
the
drive
cage.
6.
Grasp
the
drive-cage
handle
and
rotate
the
cage
until
it
locks
into
the
drive-cage
retention
latch.
