Exchanging a PMC Adapter
| Removal and replacement procedures for the PMC adapter depend on the type of
| system card installed in the IBM 2212.

Exchanging a PMC Adapter on a Standard System Card
| Refer to “Handling Static-Sensitive Devices” on page 2-2 before exchanging a PMC
| Adapter.
| Note: This procedure describes how to exchange the PMC adapter on Models
| x0x.

| 1. Remove power from the IBM 2212 by unplugging the power cord.
| 2. Remove the external cables from the standard system card. You may want to
| label each cable as you disconnect it for ease of reconnection.
| 3. The standard system card is secured with two levers. To remove this adapter,
| release both levers by pushing outward on them.
| Remove the card from the IBM 2212.
| 4. To remove a PMC Adapter from the system board:
| a. Remove the screws that attach the PMC Adapter to the PMC stand-offs.
| (See Figure 2-3.)
| b. Gently raise the PMC Adapter from the rear of the standard system card
| and slide it out of the back of the standard system card.
| 5. Slide the new PMC Adapter into the slot from the back of the standard system
| card.
