Once Speech has been enabled, the SpeechBar will be in the docked state
with the Microphone Button in
sleep mode
(Yellow Microphone icon). Say
Wake Up to turn the microphone on (Green Microphone icon) and start
using your voice to navigate Home Director.
If a speech type error occurs while running Home Director, a message is
displayed in the word history area of the SpeechBar indicating the number of
the error. An error pop-up window will appear giving a description, cause,
and solution for the error. At this time, single click, with the right mouse
button, on the SpeechBar to select 'Help on (Error#)' for this same error
pop-up window to appear. This menu item is only available when an error
occurs.
Restarting Voice Type Connection: Each time Home Director is started,
the SpeechBar will appear only if it was running when Home Director was
last closed. If SpeechBar was closed the last time Home Director was used,
Click on the Home Director icon, then select the 'Talk To Me' menu item to
start Voice Type Connection for Home Director to bring up SpeechBar.
