Powering On the 8270
The 8270 does not have a power switch. It is powered on by connecting the line
cord to the 8270 and then to an ac outlet. See Figure 2-15. Be sure to connect
the line cord to the power supply (1) before connecting it to the ac outlet (2). To
power on the 8270-600 and to verify that it is operating correctly, see “Powering on
the 8270-600.” To power on the 8270-800 and to verify that it is operating correctly,
see “Powering on the 8270-800” on page 2-25.

Verify that the Power (|) LED on the Token-Ring Processor Card is on. (See
Figure 1-6 on page 1-6 for the location of the LEDs on the processor card.) If it is
on, go to “Power-On Checkout” on page 2-26 to complete power-on checkout. If
the LED is
not on, check the following:

Line cord is correctly installed.
¹
Power at the ac outlet.
¹
Token-ring processor card is correctly seated in the backplane socket.
If these actions do not correct the problem, see “Obtaining Service” on page 5-6
