Reliability, availability, and serviceability
Three important hardware and software design features are reliability, availability,
and serviceability (RAS). The RAS features help to ensure the integrity of the data
that is stored in the hardware, the availability of the hardware and software when
you need it, and the ease with which you can diagnose and correct problems.
The dx340 has the following RAS features:
v Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)

v Automatic error retry or recovery

Automatic restart after a power failure, based on the BIOS setting
v Boot-block recovery

Built in, menu-driven setup, system configuration, and redundant array of
independent disks (RAID) configuration (depending on server configuration)

Built-in monitoring for fan, power, temperature, and voltage

CD-based diagnostic programs
v
Customer support center that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

v Power-on self-test (POST) with error logging of POST failures
