What to do next
You are now ready to configure the 10G Network Active Bypass unit from either the secure web-based
management interface or from the command-line interface.
Logging in to the management interface
The 10G Network Active Bypass unit provides a secure web-based management interface that you can
use to configure and to manage options from a web browser.
Procedure
1.
Use the management cable (labeled “CAT5E”) to connect a computer to the management port on the
10G Network Active Bypass unit. Make sure that you follow industry best practices for securing your
critical network infrastructure. Do not connect the management port to any network that is open to
external traffic. The management port should be connected only to a restricted network that is
dedicated to managing the 10G Network Active Bypass unit and the Network IPS appliances.
2.
Open a web browser.
3.
Type
https://192.168.0.111
. The 10G Network Active Bypass unit uses a default IP address of
192.168.0.111. These default values remain in effect until you change them. You can use the
Management Port page of the management interface or use the relevant command-line parameters to
change the IP address for the management port.
Important:
Changes to the management port can interrupt the management interface connection.
Make sure that the new IP address is accessible before you make any changes. When you change the
IP address, the management port web address changes also.
4.
Log in to the management interface. If you are connecting to the management interface for the first
time, use the default user name
admin
and the default password
admin
.
Note:
To change the admin password, use the
Authentication
>
Users
page of the management
interface or change it from the command-line interface.
What to do next
You are now ready to configure options for the 10G Network Active Bypass unit from the management
