5.12.1.

Trimming grass and weeds.

5.12.1.1.

Remember that it is the tip of the cord

that’s does the cutting. You will achieve best

results by not trying to overcut instead allow

the unit to trim at its own pace.

5.12.1.2.

Hold the unit so the head is of the ground

and is tilted about 20° toward the sweep

direction. OP7.

5.12.1.3.

You can help avoid debris and stones form

being thrown by cutting form your left to your right.

5.12.1.4.

Use a slow and deliberate action to cut heavy growth. The rate of

cutting motion will depend on how much is being cut. Heavy growth will

require slower action than lighter growth.

5.12.1.5.

Never swing the unit so hard as you might be in danger of losing your

balance or loss of machine control.

5.12.1.6.

Try to control the cutting motion with the hip rather than placing the

full workload on the arms and hands.

5.12.1.7.

Always take precautions to avoid wires, grass and dead dry long

stemmed weeds from wrapping around the shaft. If this happens it can

stall the machine and cause clutch slip which if repeated can cause

damage to the clutch.

5.12.2.

Adjusting the cord length.

5.12.2.1.

Your brush cutter is equipped with a semi-auto type nylon cord head

that allows the operator to advance the cord without stopping the engine.

When line cord becomes too short lightly tap the head on the ground

while running the engine at full throttle.

5.12.2.2.

Each time the head is bumped the cord will advance about 25mm. For

better effect tap the head on bare ground or hard soil. Avoid bumping in

thick tall grass as the engine may stall by overloading.
