6. MAINTENANCE

You must make sure that the engine has stopped, allowed to cool down

and disabled before commencing any maintenance work.

6.1.

Refilling trimmer cord.

6.1.1.

Use a replacement cord of 2.4 mm, the spool is capable of taking a cord

length of 6m on the standard head. Avoid using larger line as this will cut down

on the performance of the trimmer.

For safety reasons DO NOT use metal reinforced cord.

6.1.2.

(1) - Pinch the slotted area on both

sides of the spool housing to unlock the

bottom cap.

6.1.3.

(2) – Take the spool out and remove

the old cord. Fold a new piece of cord (3)

so the one half of the line is 120mm

shorter that the other half. Then hook the

bent over end into the slot on the spool.

6.1.4.

(4) Wind up the line in the correct

direction as indicated on the spool.

6.1.5.

(5) Hook each end of the cored in the

slots on the edge of the spool. Then pass

the cord ends through the eyelets (6) on

the housing.

6.1.6.

(7) While holding the spool against the

housing pull the cord ends to release

them from the slots.

6.1.7.

(8) Line up the slot on the bottom cap

with the hook on the housing, press the

cap against the housing until it clicks

securely.

6.2.

Air filter.

6.2.1.

If the air filter becomes clogged it will

reduce the engines performance.

6.2.1.1.

Check and clean the air filter

element (1).

6.2.1.1.1.

Wash in warm soapy water,

rinse in clean water. Allow

the filter to dry before re-

inserting into machine. N.B. if

the filter is damage replace it

with a new one.
