2.2. Bluetooth Connection
2.2.1 Pairing a Bluetooth Mobile Phone or Music Player
A Bluetooth connection must first be established between your Bluetooth mobile phone or
Bluetooth music player and the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. The first step to connecting
the Bluetooth radio and Bluetooth device is to introduce or ‘Pair’ the HYUNDAI Bluetooth
radio and Bluetooth device together. It is recommended that you have the instruction
manual for your Bluetooth mobile phone or music player with you during the pairing
process described below to assist your understanding of how to set your device to pair
with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio.
Note:
It is recommended that all other Bluetooth devices other than the device to be
paired are switched off during the following steps 1) to 7).
Pairing Instructions:
1) Press button

Bluetooth Menu

2) Turn knob

Device Manager
then press knob

to display
Register Phone
and then press knob
C
again.
3) The radio will now allow itself to be discovered by other compatible Bluetooth devices
and the display will show
PAIRING ACTIVE - ENTER CODE 0000 INTO DEVICE
.
4) Now, set your Bluetooth device to search for and pair with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth
radio. A guide for setting your Bluetooth device to search and pair with the radio is
provided in section 2.2.2.

5) If you wish to end the radio PAIRING mode, press button

6) If the pairing process is successful, the Bluetooth logo appears on the radio display,
Handsfree
and the name of the device (e.g. Samsung or Nokia or iPhone) and then
Handsfree
Connected
appear on the display. If the device supports Bluetooth audio,
BT Audio
and the device name, then
BT Audio Connected
appears on the display.
7) Your Bluetooth device is now ready for use with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio.
Notes When Pairing Bluetooth Devices:
a. The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio allows a maximum of 6 Bluetooth devices to be paired.
Once paired, the device is retained in memory and pairing is not required again unless
the device is deleted from the car radio.
b. Only one Bluetooth mobile phone may be connected to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio
at one time for hands free telephone operation.
c. If a Bluetooth music player is to be connected together with a mobile phone, refer to
the notes in section 3.1.
‘Playing Music Using Bluetooth Audio’.
d. Bluetooth connection between the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and mobile phone is
normally established using the Hands Free Profile (HFP). However, some mobile
phones may only allow the connection to establish in Head Set Profile (HSP) and
therefore some functions may not be available.
