Replacing a brake line (Versions with ABS)
- Drain all the fluid from the relative braking system (front or rear).
- Replace the damaged line, routing and fastening the new line (with clamps
and hose guides) exactly as before and replacing all the seal washers.
- Fill the system with fluid and bleed as described in the relative paragraph.
Key
1. Line connecting ABS unit to front brake calliper.
2. Line connecting front master cylinder to ABS unit.
3. Line connecting rear master cylinder to ABS unit.
4. Line connecting ABS unit to rear brake calliper.
Front braking system removal (Versions with ABS)
To remove the front braking system, the individual components of the system
must be separated. After separation, drain the components of brake fluid as
described in the paragraph “Changing brake fluid”.
Do not spill brake fluid onto any painted surface or lens (for example
lights lens).
Do not mix two brands of fluid. Completely change the brake fluid
in the brake system if you wish to switch to another fluid brand.
Brake fluid may cause irritation. Avoid contact with skin or eyes.
In case of contact, flush thoroughly with water and call a doctor if
your eyes were exposed.
Removing the front brake calliper
- Undo the drilled bolt (1) and detach the line (2).
- Undo the screws (3) and remove the brake calliper (4), collecting any fluid
remaining in the line.
