GENERAL ENGINE PROCEDURES

Workshop Manual Ed.09-2012

Crankshaft sensor and stator removal

-  Unscrew the screws (1).

-  Remove the bracket (2) with the sensor (4).

-  Remove the cable ring (3).

-  Unscrew the screws (5).

-  Remove the cable ring (6) and stator (7).

Crankshaft sensor and stator installation

-  Spread sealant on the cable ring (1) and insert into the cover.

-  Clean the threads of the screws (2) with oil.

-  Tighten the screws (2) to torque.

-  Clean and spread sealant on the cable ring (3) and insert into the cover.

-  Install the crankshaft sensor (4) with its support (5) and the screws (6) by 

tightening these last to torque.

 

The new cover has no threading as it is created by the tapping screw. 

In this case no screw sealant must be used.

 

If reusing the cover, tighten the screws to torque with Loctite 243.
