Still no spark?
Check the spark plug connection.
1. Pry off the metal washer using a
small screwdriver and lift off the
heat guard from the spark plug
connection.
2. Pull away the ignition lead from the
spark plug cover with a twisting
movement.
TIP!
Lubricate the ignition lead with a few
drops of oil.
If no spark occurs even now, remove
the short-circuit cable from the
connection point in the carburettor
compartment.
If the plug now sparks, the fault is either
in the stop switch or the short-circuit
cable.
Change the switch as needed and
check to see if the cable insulation is
damaged.
Check that the connection between the
ignition lead and the contact coil is not
burnt.
If this is the case, cut off the damaged
section.
3. Check the connection between the
ignition lead and the contact coil.
Cut off a piece of the ignition lead
to make a satisfactory connection.
If no spark occurs, disconnect the stop
switch.
Replace the switch if necessary.
Use pliers no. 502 50 06-01 to make a
hole in the ignition lead.
When a part of the ignition lead has
been cut off it helps to use the pliers
no. 502 50 06-01 to make a hole in the
ignition lead to fit the contact coil.
NOTE!
It is important that the tip of the
contact coil hits the centre of the
ignition lead to prevent sparking.
