Set it Up
Threading for Twin Needle
1. Insert a twin needle. See page 1-20
“Changing the needle”.
2. Use a second thread spool or wind a bobbin
with the thread you are going to use as the
second upper thread.

LEFT NEEDLE
(
RED
): Thread the machine as
explained on page 1-11 (Horizontal spool
pin) and check to ensure that the thread lies
between the inner thread tension discs (d)
and inside the last thread guide. Thread the
left needle.

RIGHT NEEDLE
(
GREEN
): Pull out the auxiliary
spool pin and place your second thread
spool on the spool pin. Place a spool holder
in front of the spool.
6. Thread the machine as before, but this
thread should lie between the outer thread
tension discs (d) and outside the last thread
guide. Thread the right needle.
Bobbin Winding
Make sure that the presser foot and the needle
are in the up position.
1. Place an empty bobbin on the bobbin
spindle at the front of the machine (the
mark
a
facing up). Use only the original
Husqvarna Viking green bobbins.
2. Thread the machine with the main spool pin
in horizontal position.
NOTE
: If the thread spool is too large to be in
horizontal position, wind the bobbin as described
under “Winding Specialty Threads”, page 1-14.
3. Bring the thread up from the needle, under
the presser foot and to the right through
thread guide (b).
Only use a metal presser foot when bob bin
winding from the needle.
4. From above, wind a few turns of thread
clockwise around the bobbin and into the
thread cutter (c).
