Before removing the battery, follow these steps:

1.

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the 
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then 
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4.

Remove the bottom cover (see 

Bottom cover on page 23

).

Remove the battery:

1.

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (1).

2.

Remove the three PM2.0×2.5 screws (2) that secure the battery to the computer.

3.

Remove the two PM2.0×6.0 screws (3) that secure the connector to the computer.

4.

Lift the battery and the connector from the computer (4).

5.

Disconnect the connector from the battery (5).

6.

If replacing the battery cable, remove the cable from its routing path in the computer (6).

Reverse this procedure to install the battery.
