Hardware Options Installation

Replacing the Battery

If the server no longer automatically displays the correct date and time, you may need
to replace the battery that provides power to the real-time clock. When replacing a
battery, use a CR2032 three-volt lithium coin cell battery.

To replace the battery:

Follow the steps in “Removing the Access Panel” in this chapter.

Locate the battery on the system board. Refer to Figure 3-34 for the location of
the battery.

NOTE: If you have expansion boards installed, it may be necessary to remove them to gain
access to the battery. Refer to “Installing an Expansion Board” in this chapter for details.
