Removal and replacement procedures

Removing a media drive blank 

1.

 

Power down the server ("Powering down the server" on page 

18

). 

2.

 

Use the T-15 Torx screwdriver to eject the drive blank, and pull the drive 
blank out of the server. 

  NOTE:  The T-15 Torx screwdriver is shipped with the server and 

can be located on the rear panel ("Rear panel components" on page 

98

). 

 

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure. 

 

Removing a media drive 

To remove the DVD drive, optional diskette drive, or optional CD-RW drive: 

1.

 

Power down the server ("Powering down the server" on page 

18

). 

2.

 

Use the T-15 Torx screwdriver to eject the drive, and pull the drive out of the 
server.
