Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet,
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 41
).
5.
Remove the following components:
a.
Access door (see
Access door on page 43
).
b.
WLAN module (see
WLAN/Bluetooth combo card on page 49
)
c.
WWAN module (see
WWAN module on page 47
)
d.
Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 54
)
Remove the top cover:
1.
Position the computer upside-down with the front toward you.
2.
Remove the 4 rubber screw covers
(1)
and 6 Torx T8M2.5×8.0 screws
(2)
that secure the top
cover to the computer:
3.
Turn the computer upright and open it as far as possible.
4.
Remove the 5 Torx T8M2.5×6.0 screws
(1)
and the Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screw
(2)
that secures
the top cover to the computer.
